hi mr. jestine yong…

i’ve heard a lot from you bout many things regarding
electronics, ahm.. actually i have a problem bout my t.v. set,

at first my has just no color, then i decided to enroll in a electronics training center

for me to know how to fix my t.v. set, many days passed, then i ask my mentor bout my problem, then he advice me to check the CRT board for any damages or any component.

then i found out that there is some components which are worn out and not properly soldered, so i told my instructor that, then he advice me to just re-soldered them… then at first it become good, the color is good,,, but after a few minutes it returned again to its problem,, “no color”,,,, so i decided to

ask some technicians, then one told me to replace the old CRT socket, because according to him

may it is loosed or not in proper contact due to heat and weather change,,, so as a begginer i follow his

suggestion.. then i replaced it,, but worst thing happen… now my t.v. has no color. no display, no sound

so… im here sir to ask few tips from you,,, hope you will help me sir regarding my problem.. thank you sir..

HI John,

I’m assuming that there is also no color in the av mode. I suggest that you put back the old crt socket and make sure carefully connect back the connectors and etc. No color can be caused by bad jungle ic and the crystal. You may need to check the crystal frequency.

My Samsung SynMaster 920NW LCD monitor gives self Test display OK,
but when connected to PC the screen goes black & blue power LED blinking.
Please help me to find out the problem.

HI Guru,

Check along the components that is connected from vga input connector to the mcu ic. If all check to be good then suspect the MCU have problem.

hi jestine young,recently i brougth a 220v -240v 50/60hz 3.5w ,output dc 5v 500ma usb adapter, made from china,after i plug in my home power point(230v) ,it explosed and cause my home power supply break down.this adapter has two pins,is this two pins ,i plug in the wrong direation and cause the explosion?or product faulty?so far i know that some of this adapter, made from china,have to plug in one direation,pls kindly give me your advise,thank you.

It can be product faulty because the adapter pins can take in AC current in either way.

I wish to known why DMM unable to detecting the 16V 3300uF capacitor’s
capacitance, however it was read ok on the blue ESR meter, is this
capacitor still ok?

Your meter capacitance range is not high enough to detect such a high cap value.

sir jestine yong,i have a litle problem in my sanyo crt tv,the case is
dead set,so i diagnose and i found out that the str and resistor are
badly defective,i imediately replaced it a new str,but the unit still
desame no power,it their is apossible way can be fix my sanyo crt tv.

I suggest that you check all the components in the primary side inclusive of components in the secondary area like diodes.

i have a problem with repairing a lcd monitor . i have changed the main power cap that became dammage . after this the monitor works ok for a houre and then the screen change to the horizental lines and we loose the picture . by turning off and after a few minute by turning on the screen will come  but this situation will continue .so could you pls help me solve this problem .

Make sure the output voltages from the power supply is good and the cables between the mainboard and lcd panel is properly connected.
