How To Get Rid Of Hissing Sound In Welding Inverter
One of my frequent customers called me about this welding machine. It was producing a hissing sound while welding. I was not in the shop when he called so I promised to drop by his shop and pick it up on my way to the shop.
It is a Chinese made welding machine and it was a very tiny one.
Usually this customer deals with big sizes welding machine.
I took some screws off and I was able to see inside the machine. The moment I took the cover off, I saw this.
This is one of the welding terminals found on the side of the machine. That explained the hissing sound the customer was talking about. The screw that holds the metal soldered piece to the printed circuit was failing and therefore, it needed a new plate to be replaced.
I took the screw off and cleaned the area then add a copper metal piece to that locating soldered it back on that board.
Sorry it is a little pit out of focus but it is clear enough to see the copper metal piece attached to that board. Once that is done, I screwed the screw back through that hole attaching the copper metal piece to the board. Once I did that and turn it on, the hiss sound was gone.
Green light is not and ready for use. Mission accomplished.
