I saw this tv advertised cheap in local website not working as the person said they
were watching it one night when it gave “pop” sound and it stopped working. No
red standby light at all.
It is approximately 7 years old so I thought I will buy it as possibly it is fault with SMPS
an it can be saved. When I opened and inspected visually for faults, I saw IC 7905 exposed
with no covering. I began to test the surrounding components for faults also and R7914 was
also open circuit.

I am an electronic technician here in the Philippines working on TV, LCD and other
electronic devices. Honestly I am not that expert yet, but I very glad you are sending
some electronics repair experiences here. It helps me get some idea to improve my
repairing skills.
Recently I have troubleshoot a HYUNDAI TV 32′ model HY-29TM9, unfortunately
I was not able to repair it. The trouble is Horizontal pincusion. I already replace most parts
in the HOT section but still didnt solve.

good day to you Mr. Jestine.thanks a lot for the june repair newsletter.by the way my daughter gave me her old laptop,an LG(IBM) which has some problem and she cannot use that is why she gave it to me to fix what problem it may have.luckily i got an original OS of winxp from one of my friends and i formatted it totally to get rid of the virus in which some of my flash drive that i used was also damaged when i used this laptop before i decided to reformat.
