A Dead Gate Control Board Brought Back To Life
My brother next door brought me this board for repair. He said that someone else tried to fix it but could not find the right part for it. He already told me the main problem with this board; it was the main transformer.
I checked the main power outputs on these two fuses and I was supposed to get 12 DC volt on both but there was no reading whatever. I traced it back and I confirmed what my brother has said about the transformer being the main fault on this board.
The main nightmare of any technician is to find the main problem on certain device and at the end could not fix it because there was no replacement part for it. As I explained this to my brother, he smiled and said, I know the right guy for this. He got his phone out of his pocket and called a guy who told my brother to send him a photo of the transformer part needed. I took a photo of the transformer and sent it to this guy. In about three or four days, my brother walked into my shop carrying the replacement part. Wow indeed.
The transformer was installed on a similar board that had different issues. I de soldered it off and then I installed it on the board that I have in my shop.
The moment I powered up the board, lights came on and as you can see, it was working fine.
There is a certain way to test the board without the motor attached to the main board by shorting the common pin to the other three pins including a safety pin. I did not bother with that and I let my brother deal with it. My brother installed it the same day and he told me that all went well.
Mission accomplished.

With that kind of connections your brother should go in repair too! (LOL).
Albert: He is in the welding and black smith business. Now, his connections are becoming mine..
Very good, Walled. In spite of the 4 days to get the replacement, it seems that the maintenance work was quick. Thanks for sharing. By the way, what does a gate control board serve to?
Henrique: getting the transformer was big wait but it took me about five minutes to install it on board. The gate control board gets a 220 AC volt source it outputs 12 DC volts and 5 DC volts to make the board control opening and closing a gate with remote control and it has many safety features.
