Electrical vacuum cleaner with bad electrical wire repaired. Model Universal
A young lady comes into my shop and in her own words started to tell me about a problem with her vacuum clean.
He explained that the moment she turns the vacuum on, she could hear and see electrical sparks coming out of the electrical wire in that machine.
That is a big vacuum cleaner that used for cleaning cars and carpets. It has a big motor and great suction power.
She pointed where the sparks coming from and it was very visible.
This should be an easy fix. I can just cut the cable off and splice it again and we are good to go. But I was worried about safety and also the look. Her kids might just play with the wire and take the heated sleeve off and it will be exposed again. The Look, of that electrical heating sleeve (I did not have the same color of the cable) on that cable was not what I have in mind. I decided to take the cover off, cut the bad part of the cable off and then connect it again to the machine.
First, I cut the cable off and you can see the marks of the electrical sparks on that cable.
That is the other side of the bad cable from inside the machine.
I disconnected the cable and the pulled the bad part of the cable out of the machine. Stripped the good side of the cable off and reconnected it back to the machine.
I used an air blower to clean the machine from inside. It was really dirty and a lot of dust came out. It seems like it was not cleaned for ages. I put the head of the vacuum cleaner back on, power on the machine and it was working like a charm.
It was safe and at the same time, looks good on the outside. Mission accomplished.

Good Job! Waleed
Waleed, It was a good thing that the vacuum cleaner had no cable retractor reel. Reconnecting the cable to the end of that reel would be much harder to do. Especially if a broken spring of a rewind mechanism needs fixing. That’s why I never use the build-in cable retractor of my vacuum cleaner. I just roll up the cable manually.
