Game Station With Power Port Broken Repaired
A dentist and a friend of mine brought me this game station for repair. He actually gave me a call about it Sunday morning when I was in church but I could not get back to him. At night when I returned his call he explained how his kid was disappointed when he got this game station as a gift but could not power it up.
It is china made game station and it is cheap.
He is willing to pay for repair simply because of his son and I respect that.
It seems like the charging port was broken due to the fact that the son tried to hock the power plug to the charging port and pushed it really hard and in the process he broke it. As you can see in the photo, someone tried to force the game station open because of the marks found on the edge of the device.
There is an easy way to open the device; just take these four screws off and the device is open. I actually said that to my customer and we busted laughing.
As you can see, the charging port was loose off the logic board and I found is laying inside the device.
The charging port was in bad shape and it had to be replaced.
Two pins on that charging port were missing and lucky me, I bought recently a lot of charging port on the internet and I was able to replace it with the exact part.
If you look closer enough you would see that this charging port has five pins but actually two pins only connected to the logic board. The far right was the positive and the far left was the ground.
Once I get that soldered to the board and powered up the device, it came on and that put a smile on the customer’s son’s face.
Mission Accomplished.

We know that kids are bad customers. They do not know what they did to destroy a perfectly good working device. And neither do they have the money to pay for the damage done. Luckily parents do.
Hi Albert, You are always on the blog to express your opinion on the articles, I congratulate you and I am jealous of you (too). An adage says:
the misfortunes of one people are the profits of another, but of course, not everything is made in China !? the wizard-acrobat dragon is skilled at emptying parents’wallets without being guilty of theft.
BEST WISHES
Abdellah: yes, that is true. even stuff not made in china always get destroyed by kids.. I do not not mind as long as the parents are paying for the repair. have a blessed day
Albert: kids are the best customers because they break things and parents pay for the repair. enjoy it while you can.lol
