Not Charging In Hoverboard Repaired
A hovering board that does not charge repaired. Model: TW01
A customer walked into my workshop carrying a hovering board. He explained that his son tried to charge it but it was not charging.
He went further to explain that it was a four months old hovering board but he did not want to go though warranty procedures to get it fixed because it takes time to get it back.
From experience, when charging a hovering board, the charger stand by light must change from green light to red. In my case, it was still green and from the previous photo, there is suppose to be a battery icon flashing in orange indicating that charging in progress but none of that was taking place.
The charger was fine since it was getting a green light but why it was not switching to red to show it was charging.
My chain of thoughts switched to the plug on the hovering board and to my surprise I found this. One of the pins on the male socket on the device was broken.
In order to fix that, I have to open the device.
Once I took the screws off and exposed the inside of the hovering board, I was able to see where the power cable is coming from and where it is going to. I unplugged the cable from the socket on board and I took the nut that is holding the charging wire to the side of the device.
Here is the difference between the new good cable and old bad cable.
Once I replaced the bad cable with the new one and put everything back together, I was able to see the orange charging icon flashing on the display of the device and the power charger switched to red indicating it was charging.
Mission Accomplished.
