Panasonic Cordless Phone Does Not Ring When Receives Calls
A lady brought this cordless phone for repair. She said when someone calls in, the phone does not ring and when they want to call out, the buttons do not beep when they are pressed.
It has a very tiny base for charging and connecting a phone line to.
I love Panasonic phones, the quality made and they last for a long time.
The part in charge of button sounds and the phone ringing is the external main speaker. It is first time I see this kind of speaker that is so tiny. Usually they are bigger and easy to find. This one is small and hard to find.
Just to make sure the fault was the speaker, I tested it with my meter set on ohm mode and it was open.
I found one used but in excellent conditions from a technician who owns a shop nearby.
After I was done with the speaker issue and everything is back to normal, I did some cleaning on the phone buttons because they were dirty.
The phone board on the inside was dirty so I cleaned it and cleaned the rubber pad of the phone. When cleaning the board, use some cleaning alcohol but when cleaning the pads do not use any kind of alcohol on it because it will make it worse.
I put everything back and called the customer. She was happy because at a certain point I almost gave up on finding that speaker and she did not like that. Now that she is happy and the customer satisfaction was guaranteed I could call it:
Mission accomplished.

I dismantled about 4 of these DECT Phones I got from my brother that were no longer used. They weren’t Panasonic (probably cheaper Profoon type PDX-6630 cordless handsets) and all had charging problems with the Base units and the battery contacts. And because they were no longer reliable working units he bought new ones. And everything including a no longer being used ISDN telephone centre ended up at my place for parts. These Phones probably are no longer used in future because everyone now uses their Smartphone to communicate with. And sadly most of the special IC’s and other components in these sets are just scrap and useless in other repairs.
Albert: totally agree with you. have a blessed day.
well done WALEED yes smaller electronic machines are all around and they need services
also making income for us and not need too much time and effort for repair.
Beh: thanks man. yes indeed but some phone sometime I find a hard time getting parts for them but once they are fixed, the income is good. have a blessed day my friend.
